    Wink nude side etiquette

question to any hedo veterans....if im on the nude side laying out and i want to go get a drink, is it ok to put on my bathing suit to walk to the bar or am i supposed to walk there with the frank and beans exposed. i ask this because ive heard people at hedo will playfully boo people for making rookie mistakes . i dont wanna get booed. it sucked as an athlete and i cant picture it getting any better now....especially if i just got up to put my shorts on. ill be convinced people are booing at my weiner and ill probably run away and hide somewhere on the resort until i can plot my revenge!!!!! just kidding about running away and plotting revenge, but seriously whats the "rule" about the bathing suits? any help would be appreciated. i dont wanna make any rookie mistakes. all the posts ive read say the nude areas are the place to be so i want to hang there with my bride but i dont know if shes gonna be into getting naked but if she does I DONT WANNA GET BOOED FOR BREAKING A RULE! thanks for taking the time to read this. HEDO 2 august 22-27 2010.

You will draw much more attention wearing a swimsuit!!! Give yourself 5 minutes, you won't want a suit anywhere near you.

someone steered you wrong...no one boos you for making a 'rookie mistake' ... at least i haven't seen that in many many trips. i have seen people get asked to take off their clothes if they are on the nude side. you definitely DO NOT want to put on any clothes to head to the bar. In fact, you don't need to bring any clothes to a nude beach. : ) A sarong is fine or a towel if you're heading up to the main dining room for lunch. No worries. Just watch and learn...it's pretty easy. You get naked, you stay naked. You only stick out if you're not nude.

It will be much more clear when you get there. I know it is hard to imagine now, but you can trust that a good percentage of the people here thought the same way as you before their first trip. Once you are chillin' with the other nudies you will not feel the need to put on a suit to go to the bar.

I generally change into my tuxedo to go to the bar. Hedo is a very classy place after all. I bring my tuxedo because, like in Monte Carlo, it is required in the Hedo casino.

Something that occurred to me in this thread, is that the original poster may not realize that there is a bar directly on the nude beach. You don't have to head to a clothed area to get more drinks. So as a result, as the others have said, there is no need to get dressed to head to the bar.

That being said, if you were at the very very far end of the nude beach, it might be closer to go to one of the prude bars. In those cases, you might want to toss on a suit/towel/sarong/whatever, but I doubt anyone would care if you did or not, and you certainly wouldn't be boo'd for it.

Last April a couple would put there shorts/sarong on every time they went up to the bar. They drew more attention to themselves doing that than if they were naked. So I suggest that if you want to blend in and not stand out I'd keep my shorts tucked under the lounger.

when going to the nude pool its best to leave your suit in your room.
about getting your wife to go nude...
the couple we arrived with the wife claimed she didnt know if she would go nude but when we met them for dinner they had already been over to the nude side. some people claim they arent comfortable or are unsure but when the see everyone else it ends up not being a big deal to them.
I however am an extremely self-concious person. it was a it wasnt till the 2nd day that i was able to go to the nude side, but going undercover of the night made it much easier to begin to adjust. it made it a bit easier for the next day too and each day it was less of a deal (although to tell you the truth im still quite a bit shy/self conscious). so suggest to her to go during the evening if you find she seems reluctant after the first day.

Every guy worries about this on the first trip, but believe it or not, it rarely happens. If it does, it's not a huge deal (no pun intended). It's good to ask questions and this group will certainly oblige with answers, but don't over think things. Just go and have a great time (which you undoubtedly will). It's Jamaica, mon, don't sweat the small stuff (or even the big stuff). No problem, mon, evryting irie.

"What if I get wood at the pool?"

Good question. Proper Hedo protocol dictates that random wood must be dealt with in a timely manner. One way enlist the help of his significant other, or any willing assistant, to tame said wood. Willing assistants must be approved by the owner of the wood (the significant other in this case), or drama ensues. The only unacceptable form of random wood de-arming is that which results in drama.

One may hide the wood by jumping into the pool or standing behind something while thinking about one's spouse's mother - that should make things drop like a rock. If hiding behind someone else, please ensure to not alarm that person with said wood.

There are a few preferred locations to hide the wood very effectively with the help of a willing assistant. Please do not think about the mother in law in this case because premature wood loss may lead to drama - and drama is always bad at Hedo. In this case it is also preferable to ensure that you are well situated to provide a show to other guests.

Random wood can also be worn with pride, it can be used as a pointer to direct attention to the cause of the wood. It can be used as a handy towel rack, perhaps as an armrest for a height challenged friend.

If random wood occurs during a volleyball game, please take a break from the game to avoid injury to yourself or others.

Seriously ... it is not as common as you think. You won't believe me till you get there, but it is not that hard (difficult, I mean difficult) to avoid. The general vibe is more of relaxation and fun. You will forget you are naked and the problem will not come up (dammit, I did it again). When things heat up around you and the vibe turns more sexual, then it is expected and generally appreciated when you come to attention.

If it does happen unexpectedly, people are not surprised, no one will point and laugh. You may get a little extra attention - but it will be good attention. Or you can just shrug and say "Yep, I am a man surrounded by beautiful naked women - who can blame me"
