Planning our first trip to Hedo 2

My wife and I are planning our first trip to Hedo latter this year; hopefully sometime in July or August. What's the best time to go?

We have read a lot of posts in forums and visited the Hedo 2's website and we understand there theme nights almost everynight. Are we supposed to pack these costumes for our trip? We have read that Hedo 2 supplies the sheet for the Toga night; is that correct?

We also understand that revealing clothes and no clothes are accepted attire on the "nude" side of the resort. Outside the resort should we dress as if we were back in the states while in public. The last thing we want is get arrested for revealing to much outside the resort. My wife has several sheer dresses that may be too revealing outside the resort.

Another question. Since this will be our first trip to Jamaica, we would like to spend some time outside the resort looking at the beautiful sites that Jamaica has to offer. Are there local tour guides that will show us the sights and the places that we can go to party outside the resort without leaving us stranded and having to find our way back to Hedo 2? Any suggestions will greatly be appreciated because we want to be like you guys and return several times.
    Thanks T and L

T and L- welcome to the forums. Glad you found this great trove of info to help you plan.
There is usually a toga- tying class at the resort and in the past the resort has provided sheets for this. You still may want to make your own at home and bring it with you- many people get pretty imaginative on their toga-tying skills. If all else fails costume shops have them at pretty reasonable prices.
As far as dressing to go off the resort, tshirts and shorts, tank tops, and the like are appropriate. You are right to think that sheer is not a good option. In large the Jamaican people tend to be on the modest side. If you are planning on July/August you will definitely want light clothing as it tends to run on the warm and humid side.
Hand in hand with that, there is a tours desk on the resort that is happy to help you with a wide range of excursions and activities off the resort. You may also want to keep looking on the web and find a list of things you want to see- it may be cheaper to rent a taxi for the day than to pay for individual trips.
Good luck- Nick (and the snoozing Kitty)tm

    Hi T&L! Welcome!
You are correct, there are theme nights almost every night at Hedo2. However, participation is not mandatory nor compelled. You'll find that about 50% of people (give or take, depending on the night) participate in the themes. Many people decide beforehand what themes they'd like to dress for (PJ night, Toga, and Fetish being post popular), and plan costumes accordingly. Several people don't dress for themes, though, and it is totally fine. I've found that most women dress in skimpy/clubwear (present company included) type outfits at dinnertime, which is always appreciated!

Nick & Kitty gave great advice about the "dress code" outside of the resort. While it is admirable to plan a lot of outside excursions to see much of the island, be aware that "sand gravity" is a powerful thing, especially on your first trip to Hedo. It is not a "regular" resort where people become scarce in the day for trips and activities, or just sit quietly on the beach reading a book. At Hedo, you might find that you're having too much fun during the day to even want to leave the resort, for fear that you'll miss something! I know many, many people who have never left the confines of Hedo once they arrive. Just something to keep in mind.

I've done some outside activities and tours (even gone to some of the Negril nightclubs), but it does take a lot of willpower to get yourself up and out, because the party really is at Hedo! I'd suggest trying not to over-plan the "off campus" activities, because you never know how you'll feel once you are there. Many of them can be arranged the day-of through the tour desk or by hiring a driver for the day, so no need to worry too much about it beforehand.

Keep asking questions, reading the forums and enjoy your time!

Outside the resort, you will not want to wear sheer clothing... If you venture outside the resort, it would be good to have someone drive you... If you have a chance, visit the mountain area, it's beautiful... Try the eskovitch (fish)
But once you get there n see how amazing it is... You will not want to venture out much..lol
Pack less, leave your worries at home, you will enjoy yourself.

We've been once, last year, and I am sooo ready to go back..
