    Room safe model/dimensions?

I know that I was involved in a thread about this a few years back, but I'll be damned if I can find it. Unfortunately, for the first time this year I have to take my laptop with me for work (or not go on vacation) and I want to keep it locked up when I'm not using it.

Someone had posted the make and model of the safes in use at H2, does anyone recall?

My laptop is 14"x10", so if anyone has a laptop larger than that they were able to place completely in the safe (without having to resort to squeezing it in) I'd appreciate that feedback as well. Hoping I don't have to go purchase an 11" laptop just to take my trip this year.

My 13" macbook fit in the safe with room to spare. I imagine a 14" laptop would be zero problem. There was room on top of the laptop for the ipad, kindle, cell phones, and thick wallets too. No problem, mon.

Best advice I can give: Don't get wifi or cell service. You're on vacation.

I am a tech guy / email junkie. My wife bought one day's worth of wifi midway thru the week of to check that all was well with the kids. Neither of us allowed the other to use internet for work. Best decision ever.

I agree, and in the previous 9 trips we've taken, the only electronics I've taken are a camera and a watch. Sadly, this year the work schedule requires I be available in an emergency. But for other people reading this thread, you don't need a computer nearly as bad as you think you do.

I do know that the safe is Elsafe from Vingcard.

Like ColonelPanic we have had to take our laptop for 'emergency' communications with work. We make a 'rule' with ourselves and the office that we will check emails once a day - first thing in the morning everyday. It works out really well. For about 1/2 an hour to one hour every morning we are in work mode - the rest of the day is ours. You do what you have to do.

The safe dimensions are 11" x 5/1/2" door opening and 16 inches deep. I always test it before locking anything in it.......... Dick Singlecruiser

Maybe they were looking for a condom Just joking, that is not cool. But it can happen anywhere, you are not 100% safe anywhere, always have to watch your back no matter where you are in the world.

I don't disagree about needing to watch yourself anywhere, but I disagree with downplaying this.
Hedo is supposed to be a secure resort.
Their doors don't work well and in some cases, there have been no phones. BIG DIFFERENCE!

Were these people bragging about their wealth or was this random?
Did they catch the guy? Was he an employee? Local? How did he get on site? Has this been happening a lot?

My door worked fine and we were awakened by the constant radio chirping sound of a security guard one night so they apparently do make their rounds. However I always close my door and test it with a little shake no matter where I am.
