So the wife and I are planning out our first "adventurous" trip. Our timing would be for the end of September 2015 which is hurricane season so Hedo is out. We are leaning towards a Grand Canyon trip and including a few days in Vegas. We're not really swingers but would like to observe and, if we are inclined (work up the courage), participate in some adult fun in the Vegas area. Are there any clubs that have this? We've talked about doing Hedo in the past but we're a little leary about hurricane season.

Hurricane season lasts 6 months and is rarely a problem. I've been to Hedo in September and October. Historically, they get a brush with a hurricane every 3+ years. A direct hit only happens every 11 or so years. The last time they were affected was August 28th, 2008 when Tropical storm Gustav moved over the island.

Where you pick to 'explore' is your business. But missing out on Jamaica in Hurricane season is probably a mistake. We have traveled to Hedo in almost every month of the year, and we'll be in Jamaica in two days, and never had a hurricane. Look at the stats: it's not an issue.

The Grand Canyon is great (huge, big, vast etc.) Vegas is tacky and wild and ... Hedo is compact, hot (in many ways) and loads more fun. And the people are friendly. You can look or explore your wild side (can't do both at Grand Canyon).

Your pick but forget the storms. you might get an hour of rain in the hot tub -- but that can lead to fun and games, and body shots, and conversation, and ...

We were at Hedo this past September and had no issues. We did have Thunder showers every afternoon, but that was a perfect opportunity for a siesta to recharge for the evening activities. It was also a chance to get up close and personal at the nude pool as everyone squeezes up to the bar to get shelter

We live out in the wild west and the places you mention are great fun for family-type sightseeing but not the best for adult-type fun. Save your vacation days for Jamaica.

I take my kids on caribbean cruises during hurricane season. No Worries.

Look and see how many times Negril has taken a direct hit. Basically never just because of it's location. If it did I think the party would still be rather awesome. Just another adventure.

Been there when a good storm hits. Actually last year first day it was raining hard as we hid under our umbrella and worked our way to the dining hall for dinner. Well we forgot about a swimming pool in the middle of the path and stepped right in. Both of us were swimming in our rock star outfits. Have never laughed so hard on the way back to change.
