Are there still a lot of feral cats that roam around on the property each day? I was last at Hedo in March 2017 and there were quite a few. This was one of the only negatives of the entire trip.

Feral cats are accepted all over the Caribbean as they control vermin.

Like others have said here, feral cats keep the rodents controlled. And without sounding like a crazy animal person, I have to ask? What do find so offensive about a few stray cats roaming the property looking for some food? In all the times we have been there, we have never seen any of them on the furniture, (chairs, or tables) indoors or outdoors, never heard them carrying on at weee hours of the night, or day, and never stumbled upon any offensive urine odors, or stepped on any poop?

My husband loves cats we have two at home, on our last trip there was one we thought was probably domesticated as he had an old looking collar and always came and greeted us by rubbing around our legs so not all were feral, but that was up near the tennis courts. so he probably lived on site.
You are very welcome!!!! Both Jo-Anne and myself are Animal lovers, and we understand that not everyone is, and we don't fault anyone for their likes, or dislikes, hence one of the many reasons why we are in the "Lifestyle". Different strokes for different folks, & we don't judge... In our lifetime, we have been on the balls of our asses, and thankfully now, we are in much much better position, and that has taught us humility, & compassion. So, if I/we see a stray cat, or dog, that is hungry, and only looking for a meal to survive, we will give it a helping hand.

I'm with your Husband, I love pussy too... ;-) We have always been dog people, but after loosing our German Shepherd to cancer a few years ago, we wanted another pet, but our lifestyle became a bit crazier, and we felt it wasn't fare to get another dog, you need to be home every 8 hours to let them out, etc... So Jo- rescued a kitten, it was our first cat, and she is good. Plus we tend to a few feral cats in our neighborhood. Neutered, shots, food, and even heated houses for those nasty New York winter days....

OK scary story...we saw a female cat with kittens under a patio deck and Jacuzzi...second room form the Nude Bar...someone was "intrigued" with the mother cat and wanted to pet it...she then went to pick up the mother can and cuddle it.
Word of caution...do NOT pick up a feral cat when naked...they have claws!!!...Just saying it didn't
end well for the Human!!!
