2008 AWOL trip report 8/2-8/9 2008
Well let me start this off by saying this was our 2nd trip to Hedo3 and this was absolutely what Hedo3 is all about……please excuse me if I may ramble a lot…. This being our first trip report but here goes nothing…First of all when we joined the AWOL group we knew this was gonna be a great bunch of people to be going to what we have found to be the best place to just be yourself. For anyone who is thinking or not thinking of joining groups we will say Do it. It makes the trip so much better we think. The AWOL group would have chat nights 2 nights a week so everyone who was in the group got to know each other before we arrived at the resort...
Travel to Hedo was… well can we say interesting to say the least… We booked the early flight out of JFK on AJ so we could have almost a full day at the resort… well not so much…. Our flight was delayed almost 4 hrs… when we arrived at MBJ we just happened to land when 2 other flights also landed. After almost 2 hrs in line we finally made it through Immigration and Customs. Off to the Super Clubs lounge and low and behold AWOL peep’s in the lounge… Lets get the party started… turns out there were 6 AWOL couples on the bus so it was a great start. We made our drink stop and then the party officially got started… Great ride to the resort since the road is now finished. It seemed like it only took 45 minutes, but then again a few drinks with no food will do that too ya..
Arrival at the resort was something special … there we met our lovely hosts Rick and Ivy, Nick and Kerry, and also Z with clipboard in hand… Let the welcomes begin….After all the…”What happened too you guys, we have been waiting almost all day”, we had our first of MANY Hedo3 drinks in hand….Check in was a breeze and off too our room …. Room 422 in the Quad..Since we got in late we went to the main hall and got some dinner……Then off to the nude pool…..we had finally arrived home….AWOL peep’s all over the pool…. There was no doubt we ruled the resort that week…..The food there was sooo much better this year... not a bad meal too be found..Mr. John at the nude pool… what else can be said about a perfectionist... I was amazed watching him make all of his food with such care and personal touch…. And what hasn’t been said about the bartenders at the pools….. Serena at the nude pool and her peep’s just AWESOME…makes you feel so good when u get there and you are greeted with big hugs and a kiss ... once you order your drink it’s never empty…the resort staff was wonderful as always and the new EC’s really did a great job getting people into the games and contest…Thrill has to be one of the most energetic people at the resort … he was all over the place at all hours of the day and night….from doing all the games and stuff during the day to working at the disco at night…. Speaking of the disco… much better this year...
The AWOL group … being that this was their virgin trip, all we can say is, if this group doesn’t continue to grow we will be shocked. This troop of people from all over the world was in one word …FANTASTIC...R/I and N/K have something special here and we were so happy to be part of it…like it has been said before on other AWOL peep’s reports its all about the people and having as much fun as you can within that week. And boy did it... we can actually say we got to watch the sun come up and that was a first for both of us…. Unlike some others we know and love, we wish we had your energy…With all the great people we met this year it’s almost impossible to name them all without this being about 6 days long you all know who you are…We can not wait to get back next year to be with all of you wonderful people again … so to all the AWOL peep’s until next year we love ya’s all and can’t wait to do it again in 2009….AWOL in 2009 let the madness continue …..
