Talk to your doctor. There are risks (long term side effects can include anorgasmia, etc in rare cases), and it's generally thought that going on and off and back on the meds can induce them. (Coming back off anti-depressants can have the reverse effect, giving you P.E. if you never had it). But for me, it's been a real boon, and the side effect on curbing my mood swings has been an added benefit -- I probably needed it even without the sexual prolonging effect.
Does it slightly diminish the orgasmic experience? Yeah, it does. Masturbation can now be a real workout, and you have to be mentally tuned to your sexual response to get there. (It's easier with a partner). I think that in that, I'm experiencing now what most women live with day in and day out, whereas before it was easy to "rub one out" on demand. It also makes getting a second erection more difficult (the refractory period is longer), but for that, the doctor gave me Levitra for occasional use, which works quite nicely in half-doses.
Is that slight diminshment worth it? You bet, and I say so every time I hear my wife make noises now that were formerly quite less common during intercourse. Your mileage may vary. Talk to your doctor. As I said in a different thread, it's a VERY easy conversation to have. You might think it embarassing, but they've heard it all. Just talk clinically, as if you were discussing a hangnail -- it's no different. It's a medical issue to which you seek a solution, and that is why your doctor is there. He's not going to laugh at you, or judge you. He's a professional, and he knows damn good and well what percentage of men that come in under 2 minutes. He's possibly one of them himself, and he's certainly treated your neighbor for it.
What have you got to lose?
