What would you like to see this 10M spend on

I put all my faith in he is amazing person I know him a long time and trust me he will make Hedo a amazing place he knows the faults of the place real well and I know major improvements are coming that will make everyone happy. Will he be able to do everything that everyone wants no but I do know he will make it much better then it is. He has a very good perspective into the place he didn't do this for money he did this for love.

for sure bar stools at the main bar would be our vote. it would be good for people who dont come with a group who dont want to sit at a table just by them selves. thats how we meet people alot of time is while at the bar having drinks.

Agreed... It's a risk we take as guests, but we can also help. Don't be afraid to point out something like that to security or management. While we were at H3 a while back, a guy was shooting video from a room overlooking the hot tub. We could see the flashing red light, so one of the people in our group quietly slipped away to inform the front desk, and the guy was escorted off the resort not more than 15 minutes later.

I suppose that was a long winded way of saying that we have to blow the whistle when it's warranted. On the other hand, occasionally groups of friends will take pictures of each other, and some collateral boobs may end up in the frame... Oh well. :-)

Great plan! Depending on whether you want to dive the next day, and when you arrive, you may want to bump up Dive Shop on the agenda

gotta fill out all the paperwork the day before, and you must have your card. I always go there first, sign up for all my days, grab my towels and then hit the bar

First who really gives a shit who owns what %. In fact I think that's their business, not anyone elses. Secondly if Jon did not expect Kevin to run the resort and and have a large input on what has to get done why would he have given him equity? No one knows what needs to be done here as much as Kevin. Everyone in this "business" knows that. If I bought Hedonism first thing I would have done is to make sure Kevin staid and ran the resort and inside sales. I would also have given him equity, and that is exactly what Jon did. John Issa owned Hedo (still has a %) but he let Kevin make most of the descisions.

Is somebody going to take all of these ideas to the new management or are we just venting about what we had "hope" to change/add/renovate etc. Its kind of like a comment card you get when you leave, we all fill them out, nothing changes, yadda-yadda...but I am optimistic.

As Lewis stated earlier, Jon is a great guy who knows Hedo very well and who will do everything he can to make it better. He is not a disinterested party, he is someone who leads several major trips there every year. In our various trips to H3 and H2, we have travelled with four different groups, and the first three can't compare with the Fluffs. I have no doubt that the attention to detail that Jon brings to making his trips second to none will serve Hedo extremely well. We could not be more excited and enthused for the future of Hedo than we are now.

After an interesting set of conversations last night with people we KNOW would love Hedo a bit of marketing advice to use with that money. Price, look at the revenue that being 80%full V 40% full or LESS (25%)some weeks and how changing the pricing downward would affect the bottom line. I had no way of getting across the price difference line with them. They would not even envision paying for Hedo when they can and do go for a week stay at great resorts for just over half the price.

We experienced this price with better facilities this year as well and understand where their expectations are. Hedo does not stand up to expectations these people are now expecting of a resort. This is going to be a major challenge and I do hope that the deal works out and that the new owners have great success marketing it.

I've always thought Hedo was a pretty good deal. I just went to one of those big booking sites and pulled up Jamaican All-Inclusives for the week we usually go. Hedo was around the middle about $10/day more than all the Couples resorts and $50/day less than the Sandals. Plus at Hedo I can be naked and get a BJ by the pool, I guess I'm not seeing a big price issue when I consider the benefits of going to Hedo vs a vanilla resort. We could go someplace like Mexico but I'd rather stay home, at least in Jamaica you can drink the water.

Agreed. What you get for the price now is not beneficial. We spend $22 dollars more a day per person at another adults only resort, and Hedo doesnt compare. The value of Hedo just seems to have evaporated the last 4 years or so. And we want to go back but have higher expectations now. BTW Partying like a rock star is not what its cracked up to be! trust me....
