Our group costs only went up $196 for a gardenview c/o room for a week for 2 people. Does your $1000 include flights too? I am wondering how much is flights and how much is room.

That would be for flights too. Canadians pay about $4000 for a week there too. US travellers can be lucky (depending on where they live) that their flights are so cheap going to Jamaica.

Within 30 days of departure they froze your rates? You don't book for 11 months, then book 30 days before departure and get the same rate as last year's? That's great!

No what he means is if you put a deposit down for 2014's trip within 30 days of leaving after 2013's trip then you would get 2013 rates for the 2014 trip.

You need to find yourself a group or a TA who can give you better rates. There is no way that your room cost should have gone up that much since last year. You are getting screwed and NOT in the good way

Seriously though, we look forward to going back to Hedo, but it's getting rather expensive to do so.
That simply means less trips there for us.

We just got our quote today from the same TA we always use for the same time of year, and the same group we have travelled with the last couple of years. Price stayed about the same. Flights on the other hand are up drastically. Still well worth it to see our Hedo friends and keep our sanity for another year.

You might be surprised, but check travelocity. We were at h2 last week and when we were booking we were able to get a better deal with travelocity then the group rate with castaways. They run different specials, but the key is that they let you stack promo codes on top of specials price. We used a 15% off the special price and got a killer deal!

We also put up a deposit with our TA/Group a few days after getting home and received not only the same rate as 2013, but also a discount if reserving for 7 nights or more. Thank you CTI!! Since we were figuring on a 10% increase, which is what we heard was going to be the going rate for the next year due to all of the reservations, that more than paid for upgrading our room type! Can only hope we can get a similar deal in 2014! I would hope so with all the "premium" rooms and upgrades being offered next year. That should help offset some of the reno costs...

We go every year the day after Thanksgiving for 11 nights. Last year it cost us $3400 and this year it is $6500 for the same trip with air from the same airport. We even go throu the same travel agent. We been going to Hedo for 10 year now I hope this new guy knows what he is doing. Like putting new flat screens TV's in all the rooms LOL who in there right mine goes to hedo to stay in their room and watch tv and now I have to pay almost double. I looked at Dennyp's visitors list and for the same time for the last 3 years it went for 50 couple to 27 couples and this year 17 couples. I looked at the calender on here and there are 2 couples for that week. I think the people that made Hedo, will be going other places if this keeps up. That is a shame because that is why We go to Hedo, not the new rooms that we are hardly in just to shower and sleep and what ever LoL

Most of that would be made up of your flights from Europe. our flight from London is $2400 in coach with AA, plus we have a flight from the Middle East prior to London, this one only $400 for both of us. The HEDO price for the last 6 years or so has stood around $300 dollars + or - 10 dollars.

Land prices did not rise (maybe a percent) between 2012 and 2013...I would suggest that you shop around a bit. It is also good to separate your land and air price to see where the difference really is.

We are in the process of booking with castaways and they price matched for us and it was an amazing deal...we will be there in the middle of April with a group ...
