When you arrive at the airport, the airline will have this info in their computer, they will not allow you on the plane if you do not have the proper docs. If they did and you are denied entry, they are fined by the government the fine is over 10k per case. It is their responsibility to insure all the passengers they transport can enter a country. Now when you get to the airport if they don't notice it (hardly ever happens now since everything is automated) then you can fly and then hope you get a passport control agent that passes you through. Good luck! And happy vacation!
Been in the travel industry for 30 years+ have seen trips be ruined because of a few months on a passport.

Was actually being pleasant and trying to be helpful about this. Hope you can get in to Jamaica. Too bad you resorted to name calling.....

Well said, that was my point. Is it expired or not? It was not, and with a little research saved about 400 USD in passport expediting costs. A new passport now costs 170 USD's so should be good for the entire 10 years. We did learn alot about the system and the different countries rules and regs though, this is a useful site for folks!
