gifts for staff

Sorry this is kind of long and may have been addressed elsewhere but couldn't find it. Leaving for H2 in 2 days. I'm taking new school supplies and candy and little things like hand lotion and lip balm for housekeeping and other staff. I have 21 year old twin girls who have given me a lot of clothing some never worn some like new. Would I be offending anyone there if I offered these to housekeeping or others? I read about taking an older suitcase and leaving it with a note so no one gets in trouble. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Leaving 4/16

There was a post called TIPPING which addressed this fairly well. It started on 1-14-09, but there were a lot of excellant suggestions in March. Look for it under SEARCH. Your ideas are good. You might consider puttings tags on each item.

We have never taken clothing ourselves, but know many that have. All gifts are appreciated, the key to giving the staff things is to write your name, room number, what you are giving them and to whom you are giving it. That keeps them form getting into trouble and they can take it right our the front gate.

That worked for us...the maid even told us as long as we left a note that said it was a GIFT, and put our room number and her name, it was fine. She was a darling, and SO appreciative. We left school supplies, and even some cash.
